Pesticide-Free Wasp Removal in Central PA
We remove paper wasps and yellowjackets without pesticides. The nest gets vacuumed out — no spray, and no chemical residue left behind on your house or in your yard. If you want the wasps gone but don't want poison sprayed around your home, that's what we do.
We don't do bald-faced hornets, carpenter bees, or any job that's better handled with chemical treatment. Those go to our partner Lawns Plants & Pests LLC in Harrisburg. If you're not sure what you've got, send a photo and we'll tell you who's the right call.
How It Works
The method is simple: we vacuum the nest out. Paper wasp nests — the open, umbrella-shaped nests under eaves, on porch ceilings, and in grills — are handled at dawn or dusk when the wasps are settled on the nest. Most are a quick in-and-out. Yellowjackets are the harder ones: their nests hide in the ground, in wall voids, or in soffits, so those become a dig-out or cut-out once we've located the nest. No chemicals at any point.
One thing to expect going in: because we don't leave any poison behind, wasps that were out foraging when we pull the nest will come back to the old spot and mill around for a while — usually a week or two before the last ones clear out. That's normal with pesticide-free removal, and the FAQ below covers what to do about them.

Pesticide-free removal generally costs more than professional chemical extermination. A pest company can spray a nest and leave for less. You're paying for the labor of physically removing the nest and the added sting risk that comes with doing it without chemicals. If price is the only thing that matters, chemical extermination is the cheaper route — we're the option for people who want it done without pesticides.
Who Pesticide-Free Is For
Pesticide-free removal makes the most sense when you don't want spray around what you're trying to protect: households with kids and pets, vegetable and flower gardens, and especially beekeepers and anyone with a pollinator garden who doesn't want chemical drift landing on their bees. The nest is gone and nothing toxic is left behind to worry about afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you relocate the wasps like you do with honeybees?
No. Unlike our honeybee work, wasps and yellowjackets aren't relocated — they're vacuumed out and killed in the process. What makes it pesticide-free is that we don't spray anything, so there's no chemical residue left on your house or in your yard afterward.
After you remove the nest, will there still be wasps around?
For a little while, yes. Any foragers that were out when we pull the nest come back to where it was and circle around looking for it. With chemical treatment they'd land on the leftover spray and die, but pesticide-free means there's nothing there to kill them, so they hang around until they die off on their own. Most thin out within a few days; give it up to a week or two for the last stragglers to clear out. The best thing to do is leave them alone — with no nest and no queen, they have nowhere to go. You could knock the numbers down by spraying the outside of the house with a wasp killer or something like Ortho Home Defense, but that puts chemicals right back where you were trying to keep them out of, so it's your call.
Why does pesticide-free removal cost more than spraying?
Because it's more work and more risk. Professional chemical extermination is usually cheaper — someone treats the nest and leaves. Removing a nest physically without spray takes labor and carries a real chance of stings, especially with yellowjackets. You're paying for the pesticide-free method, not a faster spray-and-go job.
Do you remove bald-faced hornets?
No. Bald-faced hornets, and any job that's better handled with chemical treatment, go to our partner Lawns Plants & Pests LLC in Harrisburg. We stick to pesticide-free paper wasp and yellowjacket removal.
Can you get yellowjackets that are in the ground or inside a wall?
Usually, if we can locate the nest. Yellowjacket jobs are dig-outs or cut-outs — we find the nest, open up the ground or the wall void enough to reach it, and vacuum it out. If the nest can't be located, we'll tell you honestly rather than guess.
Do you treat carpenter bees?
No. Carpenter bees bore into wood and need chemical treatment, which we don't do. Those go to Lawns Plants & Pests LLC as well.
We're also a local honey producer — our raw honey is at the self-serve stand on Douglas Road. See our local honey.
